6 Time-Saving AI Tools for Photographers

Photography is more than clicking a button. Between editing, client communication, and marketing there’s a never-ending to-do list. That’s why I’m so excited about all the AI tools for photographers hitting the market. They’re great for speeding up tedious processes and making your life easier. Let’s dive into six of the most powerful AI tools for photographers!

AI Tools for Photo Editing

Aftershoot Culling & Editing

Let’s start with Aftershoot, your new best friend when it comes to photo editing and culling. This tool is like a sponge, absorbing your editing style each time you use it and helping you sift through all your photos to find the gems. Seriously! The more you use Aftershoot, it learns more and more about the retouches you’d make and which photos you’d choose. After a few months, there will be very little for you to do. This is especially helpful for wedding photographers dealing with thousands of photos at once! The pricing model is reasonable and it even tracks how many hours and days its saved you on editing. 

Adobe Photoshop Generative Fill

Next up is Adobe’s Photoshop Generative Fill, which is by far one of the coolest AI tools on this list. Adobe has exceeded all our expectations of what we want to see in an editing AI software. With a simple text prompt, you can add or remove any item in a photo. I’ve heard of photographers getting creative to expand backgrounds, add in entirely new backgrounds, add in cars, people, and more. But, a little word of caution: watch your step with this one. Playing around is fun, but make sure you’re clear on the legal stuff and you’re staying true to your artistic values. It’s important to educate yourself on AI legal use and copyright to ensure you protect your business and maintain copyright of your photos. (But it is still fun to play with!)

AI Tools for Photo Organization

PhotoPrism

Having an abundance of photos scattered across thumb drives, SD drives, and computers is just part of being a photographer. There never seems to be enough time to go back and organize old photos or pick out new sessions to add to your website. That’s where PhotoPrism comes in. PhotoPrism is a digital photo organization and management AI tool for photographers. It’s like having a personal AI assistant who knows where everything is! PhotoPrism analyzes your photos and automatically organizes them. It gives you a streamlined way to quickly sync your photos to cloud storage folders, like Google Drive or Dropbox. And the best part? The AI can recognize faces and objects, making searching for that one photo from that one place super easy!

AI Tools for Content and Marketing

ChatGPT

When it comes to creating content and planning your posts, ChatGPT is the go-to AI tool for photographers. It’s like having a creative writer in your pocket, helping you whip up engaging posts and fine-tune your social media strategy. It’s perfect for making sure you’re putting your best foot forward and connecting with your audience in just the right way. You can use ChatGPT to do any type of writing, from blogging to writing your Instagram captions. The more you use it, the better you’ll be at prompting it. I use ChatGPT all the time in my own business. In fact, I love it so much that I already have an entire article dedicated to how to use ChatGPT for content planning and creation. Jasper AI

Jasper AI is a powerful AI writing tool that you can use if writing isn’t your strongpoint. Use it to create your social media captions, website copy, blog posts, or session highlights. The AI is intelligent enough to add in SEO keywords for both search engines and social media. 

Grammarly

Last, but certainly not least – Grammarly. Grammarly has been around for years. It’s a tool you can use to polish your writing for spelling, grammar, voice, and tone. It can plug into anything you write in a browser – from emails in Gmail to Google Docs, even your website. What most people don’t know is that they’ve developed a powerful AI tool over the years that you can use to do the writing for you and predict what you should write. Perfect when you’re responding to an email and don’t know what to say next!

It’s Time to Adopt AI into Your Workflow

You did not get into business for yourself so you can sit behind a computer all day retouching photos or writing social media captions. AI allows photographers to speed up the backend areas of business to get more time back in your day.
