5 Easy Blog Post Ideas for Photographers

Ready to start blogging for your photography business? Great! Blogging is a powerful tool that too few photographers take advantage of.

It’s no secret that blogging has helped me boost traffic and sales for my business. I discussed that in my End of Year Review for 2022. But when it comes to blogging, many photographers feel stuck.

That’s completely understandable! Blogging can seem overwhelming in the beginning, especially if you don’t enjoy writing. Pair that with the fact that you’re committing to regularly sitting down to write? That’s enough to send many people back to Instagram and forget blogging.

But, if you want to start attracting more traffic to your photography website, blogging is the best way to do it. So to make it a little easier, I’m giving away my #1 tip to make blogging easy and 5 blog topics to get you started.

Let’s dive in!

My #1 Blogging Tip for Photographers

Oh heavens, I won’t even beat around the bush. If you’re struggling to figure out what to write about, you need to make it easy for yourself. The easiest way to start blogging as a photographer is to create blogs that answer questions you get asked regularly.

Remember, most people don’t get photos taken often. For many of your clients, hiring you is their first time getting professional photos taken. That means people are going to have a lot of questions. (Something you know very, very well, I’m sure!)

On top of that, they’re going to want to see your images to know if you’re the right photographer for them. That’s where your blogs come in! Blogging allows you to show up for questions people type into Google and to show off your work at the same time. Win, win!

So, my #1 tip for photographers who want to blog? Write about the FAQs.

5 Easy Blog Post Ideas for Photographers

Now that you know what type of blogs photographers should focus on, it’s time to start brainstorming! Break out your Session Guide or turn to your website to review your unique FAQs for your business. Ask yourself: which ones stand out? I recommend answering questions people have before they book you and questions they will want to know as soon as they book you.

If you’re not sure which FAQs could be turned into a blog, I can help. Here are a few blog post ideas I swiped from my 150 Blog Topic Ideas for All Photographers resource in the shop. I chose one title for each photography niche to give you an idea of how to turn your FAQs into blogs.
